Join us for the 38th annual IPA Convention, Freedom to Feel. What does it mean to be truly free to express one’s feelings? How does one’s life, environment, friends, family, and feelings affect the way we perceive our Freedom to Feel? Where is it appropriate or inappropriate to express our feelings? This year, we will explore these and other topics as they relate to how we feel about our feelings.

This year's Summer Convention will be at Virden Retreat Center, in Lewes, DE. Virden Retreat Center offers beautiful grounds, plenty of space for meetings, and comfortable sleeping accommodations. In addition, there are nearby beaches. Though Virden Retreat Center doesn't have its own pool, we have made arrangements to use the pool at a nearby motel.

Keynote Speaker: Barry Vissell

We're proud to present Barry Vissell from the Shared Heart Foundation (http://www.sharedheart.org/) as our keynote speaker this year. Check out Barry's web site for more information on the Shared Heart Foundation.

"Freedom" will be a key word this year, as we structure this convention in a way that encourages last-minute additions to the "official" program. For example, workshop slots will be held open and, during Community Meeting, we will offer an opportunity for participants to offer a workshop the following day. We will, of course, have our usual workshops and forums, such as Mat Track, Peer Group, and Men’s and Women’s Group.

Newcomers can join us for a day of exciting emotional and educational events for a special price of $75 for their first day at IPA! There’s room to stay over for additional days at regular prices. Meals do need to be pre-arranged. So please encourage newcomers and others to register before the convention starts to get the most out of your convention 2010 experience.

We look forward to seeing you at the Virden Retreat Center.

Scholarships available

For the 2010 Summer Convention and Retreat, a limited number of half-price scholarships will be available for IPA members who demonstrate financial need. Individuals may qualify for such scholarships whether or not they have received one in the past. The scholarships will be awarded to qualified applicants based on the order in which applications are received.

The scholarships cover half the Early Bird price of the Convention fee. Recipients must still pay the remaining portion of the fee. Although the award is without qualification, we would very much appreciate recipients being available to help out at the Convention on occasion if asked.

Please click here to download the application, fill in all pertinent information, and mail as soon as possible to:
